India's Jadeja Retires from T20 Internationals Following World Cup Victory.
June 30 (Reuters) - On Sunday, a day after securing the 20-over World Cup in Barbados, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from T20 international cricket.
Jadeja, 35, follows captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as the third senior player to retire after India's thrilling final victory over South Africa.
“With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals," Jadeja wrote on Instagram. "Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 international career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support."
The left-arm spinner, who debuted in T20 internationals in 2009, has played 74 matches, scoring 515 runs with a strike rate of 127.16 and taking 54 wickets. Additionally, he has featured in 72 tests and 197 One-Day Internationals.
"I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats," Jadeja wrote.
