Donald Trump
Donald Trump is a prominent figure in American politics. He served as the 45th President of the United States from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021. Trump, a Republican, was a real estate developer and businessman before entering politics. He gained fame through his role as a reality television personality on the show "The Apprentice."
During his presidency, Trump pursued various policies, including tax cuts, deregulation, and a tough stance on immigration. He also implemented protectionist trade policies, renegotiating trade deals such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and imposing tariffs on imports from countries like China.
Trump's presidency was marked by controversy and polarization. His unorthodox communication style, extensive use of social media, and confrontational approach to politics generated both strong support and intense opposition. His administration faced numerous investigations, including a special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
In December 2019, the House of Representatives impeached Trump on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress related to his dealings with Ukraine, but he was acquitted by the Senate in February 2020.
Trump ran for re-election in 2020 but was defeated by Democrat Joe Biden. After leaving office, he remained active in politics and continued to be a prominent figure within the Republican Party.
