Federal Incentives for Business Vehicle Purchases: What You Need to Know

(NC) Trucks, cargo vans, and other large vehicles are often essential for business operations. However, their significant size and weight result in high fuel consumption, whether it’s gas or diesel. Switching to an electric vehicle (EV) can eliminate fuel costs, but the higher upfront price can be a barrier.

The Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles program provides substantial rebates for businesses and organizations purchasing or leasing electric commercial vehicles. This rebate covers a wide range of vehicles, including qualifying vans, trucks, coach buses, semi-trucks, and other commercial types.

For businesses operating a fleet, this program offers up to 10 incentives per calendar year, with a combined maximum rebate of $1 million.

The rebate is applied directly at the point of sale by the dealer and can be combined with other provincial or territorial electric vehicle rebates available in your business's location.
