The assets of the first secretary of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in Bangladesh have been confiscated.
A Dhaka court has ordered the confiscation of all movable and immovable properties belonging to Quazi Abu Mahmud Faisal, the First Secretary (Tax) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), his wife Afsana Jasmin, and some close relatives. This directive comes in response to corruption allegations against them.
Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court issued the order on Thursday, following an application submitted by ACC's Assistant Director Md Mostafiz, who is also the head of the inquiry team.
